The National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) was established to provide new and innovative training to medical assistants for 21st century healthcare. NIMAA is a collaboration between Community Health Center, Inc. and Salud Family Health Centers in northern Colorado. In the fall of 2016, NIMAA began offering a unique medical assisting curriculum that includes training in patient-centered care within an integrated health care team. In 2021, NIMAA was accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and continues to expand its training across the country.
