CHC received a call from a group representing hospital, public health, and civic leaders. The city had done its best to run a community clinic from the early days of the War on Poverty and the Model Cities Program but struggled to keep it going. CHC agreed to take over the city-run clinic on the second floor of the St. Martin Center. Later, CHC established its current home at One Shaws Cove. CHC of New London is the health care home of 1 in 4 residents in the City of New London.
