Birth to Three and Early Childhood Development

The early years of a child’s life lay the foundation for a healthy future. A strong partnership with your child’s primary care provider can help ensure your child meets the appropriate developmental milestones and receives the right follow-up care if they are not.

Do you have concerns about your child’s development?

Community Health Center providers are working with Connecticut’s Birth to Three program, a system that helps provide support services to help with developmental progress for families with children under age 3 who have delays or disabilities.

There is no out-of-pocket cost for participating families.

Birth to Three may be able to connect your child to these types of programs:

  • Comprehensive Early Intervention Supports (EIS) Programs – General programs that help with a child’s developmental delays
  • Autism specialty programs – Programs with experts in helping children with autism
  • Deaf or hard of hearing specialty programs – Programs with experts in helping children who are Deaf or having hearing issues

If you have concerns about your child’s development, contact your child’s CHC provider and ask about the Birth to Three program by calling (860) 347-6971.
